Susie Hogarth is a freelance illustrator, writer and artist living in London. Susie has since undertaken numerous private and commercial commissions; working in publishing, advertising and print and specialising in the female form. She has also designed and painted large and small site specific murals, a range of greetings cards and a collection of illustrated ceramics.

Having completed a degree in English Literature at University College London,  Susie continued to pursue her work as a visual artist and illustrator, writing and illustrating a book on the history of celebrity culture.

Her self-initiated work is inspired by the gestures and formality of early Renaissance portraiture, the bold colourways of classic Polish film posters and the compressed, decorative spaces of the Post-Impressionists. She creates imagined portraits of women through a meticulous combination of hand painted linear work and digital colour, evoking a complex web of suggested relationships as much as a blanket of intricate pattern.
